So, SO So... I upgraded the setup since I had a 113litre tank vacant. the new tank dimensions are 64cm(L) x 49cm (W) x 40cm(H). I used the old tank as a sump now so i have approx 34 litres in the sump (which can take up to 50 litres in case of power cut and the main tank drains a bit into the sump)

I produced an overflow dran from 40mm PVC-U Pipe.
Currently I have a 900litres per hour pump taking water from sump to tank (I will upgrade it with an other same pump to be safe in case of one failing).

Then I have 2 circulation Pumps in the tank. roughly the circulation is at 25 times the volume of water of the tank (or 17times the total volume of the system.

I have 156 litres of water in total.

parameters I know for now are:

specific gravity: 1.0025
Temp 25 Deg.Celcius

I am using RO water mixed with Reef Crystals Salt Mix.

I Have a small skimmer powerd by an airstone - later on I will upgrade it as soon as the bioload starts to increase.

I have some caluerpa and other algae in the sump on which i keep light "ON" 24/7.

There is also a big sponge filter in the sump running.

Lights:

3 x 15,000K 28W Juwel T5 Tubes
2 x Actinic 28W Juwel T5 Tubes.

will be increasing this with an other 15,000K and an actinic a bit later on when budget permits.

Live stock is still the same (including lots of aptesia... soon I will see to it when I have a bit of chance).

Maroon cloon seems to have found it's home under that piece of fiji rock at the top left side of the aquarium.

Now this system has been running for 13 weeks in total and for 4 days in this new tank.

any comments will be appreciated...

These are the lights... as reflectors, I used 50mm PVC-U pipes (darin pipes) split in half and then covered them witrh kitchen foil... they work pretty good... the agreave reflection diagram is smoething like this:

this is the top of the Light hood I did - do not bother for the wires for now... I will arrange them neatly as soon as I have a bit of spare time... I had to do them like this in a hurry since otherwise they would have stayed without lights...

yeah lol... No that was being read by her mother wanting to change her Husband... but in the end the book just confirms that changing your husband will never happen but instead the wife should learn to LOVE and accept the husband as he is and for what he is... It is basically a good gift idea if your wife tends to try and change you lol... it will work out in your favour in the end!!! heheheh

LOL A likely story Ian. Blame it on the mother in law! I bet your wife has about ten volumes of 'How to change your husband'.

BTW, nice aquarium...

Thanks Foxy... still in the beginnig but... I still have to set the sump with a refguim section properly with proper deep sand bed ect... imma insomma we learn as we go along.... at least in tis setup I can access all corners of the system very easily and can modify stuff easily

I'd like to see it in person, it looks like a great system you've set up.
I shall have to invite myself along soon......

Lovely marine setup. This is surely some good introduction for a bigger setup.

thanks Gabs and kevin...

V. I am not sure if to put sand or not yet for now.... I am first reading about Sand VS No Sand options and see what best suits me... I need to learn the stuff properly before doing something and then realiseng I could have done it other way... this time this setup has to be perfect lol...

Yeah I like those books... but still it is wasted moeny to buy those books because we will never change lol... and neither will wifes lol... so better use that money on a nice fish or 2 hahaha
