Hello everyone,as Foxy rightly suggested I am opening this thread which will be dedicated to my new setup. Once again this will be planted. However with this one, I will have better lighting and also decent substrate which both lacked in the previous one. The following is what the initial setup will be. lighting - 5 x T5s total 270 watts 5 cm of flourite seachem (70% seachem / 30% normal gravel) Co2 pressurized system with PH controller following this post I will upload some pictures of how it is so far. will keep you posted.

well Antazz that bogwood is certainly not too big for your tank of that you can be sure lol. About the plant I think it's not an underwater plant but I don't know the name of this plant. Setup is looking like it's going to be a great one this time much better organised. Good luck mate and keep us posted with new pics. How big is your tank's volume?Edited by - wilier on September 14 2009 23:10:46 5-6" bala shark and common pleco to give away for free. pm if interested.

I agree, bogwood looks a nice size for the tank. Gravel looks nice too and great job on the hood. How many T5's have you fitted?

Yes i am very happy with the hood. It's lighter and it was very neatly done. I've got 5 T5's fitted for a total of 270W. The LFS did them in a way that I can switch the five with 3 different switches, so i can have any amount of them switched on.

Thanks beluga. I don't mind where it's placed, I will leave it in the hands of the people doing the aquascapping . I thought of placing it in the centre as with such a big object, it might easily catch the eye. But you are right it would be better off if moved slightly to one side.

I have T5s but don't know the output. I know they are 54W each though. However LFS assured me that they are good for planted. Nevertheless I will check and see what it says on them.

yes definitely you can create a nice landscape if you put it slightly to the side and like create a sloping setting... that will definitely look great with plants attached to it and also adding twiges to it to creat something like these:

tank displayed in picture 1 would be perfect.....in this way i'll be able to have discus too. unless I can have a mix of ramirezi and discus together. but the setup looks so relaxing.

i would create a slop by using larger stones as a foundation, if you make it out of jablo, then you would need to silicone it down to the bottom, and have it carved so the gravel does not get cleared out of it
